Mission Statement

The Mission of the Cross-Cultural Center, is to foster a multicultural community through education and advocacy regarding systematic group oppressions, ethnic and cultural diversity, and establishing an environment of cross-cultural learning and exchange for the entire campus.

Objective

The primary focus of the CCC is to promote the heritage and culture of historically underrepresented, currently underserved and marginalized groups. Moreover, it is the responsibility of the CCC to promote student activism and advocate on behalf of these communities.

As a central theme, programs and activities of the Center will be conducted in such that EVERY member of the campus community is welcome and encouraged to participate in the activities of the CCC. Furthermore, the CCC strives to create a safe space for students of color, LGBTIQ students, and students who identify with intersections of multiple identities on campus. To this end, the CCC advocates for a campus environment free of racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, ableism, body image oppression, religious/spiritual oppression and any other forms of oppression.
