Blackout the Walkthru Feb. 25, 2009
Black Out the walk thru was a success. Although the weather made it difficult to have the event outside, many people met at Alder and were able to experience the beautiful walk thru put on by the first year students. It was a sight to see and the turn out from the community gave the students a sense of accomplishment. I want to specially thank Alder and everyone who helped out.

A Guerrilla Projection
March 3-5, 2009

This visual projection project was a strange success. The volume and quality of the images we were able to locate were stunning and they glowed with such power on the side of Social Science and Humanities. The music that we played, native songs, added an ambience and environment that made the program much stronger. We were able to engage in dialogue with many people who would otherwise not come into a program, which made it more impactful.

Our Story of Activism: UC Davis March 4, 2009
 The
room was full, the food was beautifully arranged, the partnerships we
developed and utilized were amazingly realized and everyone learned
something. The various communities were representing with their
presence and with the style and delivery of their Story of Activism. It
took a lot of work to get off the ground, but when the idea for this
program was first brainstormed we knew that would be the case. Working
as a team was
paramount to getting this project done. OurStory of Activism showcased
various presentations
of the stories of activism of different communities at UC Davis. The
program was a beautiful mix of speakers, musical performances, poetry
and spoken word, documentaries, and visual presentations conveying
activism from different under represented groups on campus.

Womyn Without Borders:
March 6th, 2009

In celebration of International Womyn's Day many strong and powerful people were able to come together to celebrate Womyn who have been sources of strength and power in their lives, to read poetry and engage in conversation and to print t-shirts, sweaters, etc with the Symbol of the Womyn. It was a beautiful night of ceremony, respect and appreciation.
