Mixed Heritage Week is an annual celebration of the mixed experience. Started in 2005 as a joint effort between MOSAIC (a student organization for mixed students, now known as the Mixed Student Union) and the Cross Cultural Center. Mixed Heritage Week seeks to empower members of the mixed community, comprised of individuals from every racial and ethnic group, including people who identify as multiracial, multiethnic, and transracially/transnationally adopted. Programs featured within the week, such as the Mixed Photo Exhibit, also educate the larger community about issues faced by mixed individuals.
GET INVOLVED
Bring your ideas for programs, speakers, films, and events to our weekly Mixed Heritage Week planning meetings. To volunteer, please contact Michelle Hanley at mmhanley@ucdavis.edu.
