The Cross-Cultural Center is proud to offer various students internships to engage in social justice. Whether you choose to be a community intern or have a skill such as graphic design or office administration, the CCC gives you the opportunity to make a difference on campus. Our applicants must be in good academic standing and be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve our mission.

All selected interns must be in good academic standing, participate in a social justice class during Spring Quarter (Weds 3-5pm), and attend 4 hours of weekly staff meetings (Fri 10-12 noon and a student meeting to be determined).

The CCC is currently accepting applications for 2008-2009 intern positions. Applications are currently available, and we encourage those interested to inquire with the Cross-Cultural Center. Also, volunteering at the CCC provides valuable insight about the Center and is always appreciated.

Web Site Design and Development Intern
This intern manages the design and maintenance of ccc.ucdavis.edu. All updates to web site to be completed within 48 hours of request during the work week. In addition, the intern works with the Graphic Intern to correlate information and design elements. Overall he or she works in cooperation with the Office Coordinator, Graphic Design Intern, CCC Staff and volunteers to distribute flyers, posters and other media - to promote CCC sponsored events and other important notices.


Community Interns
The CCC currently offers eight community intern positions to serve the needs of varied campus communities. Click on the following community intern titles to find out more information: In addition, we have 2 Campus Climate interns who meet multiple constituents to define issues broadly affecting campus. One of these interns also creates the Middle East/South Asian leadership conference. All community interns serve as liaison to students, student organizations, faculty, Ethnic Studies Departments, administrators, and staff to maintain communication and flow of information. Essential to the position is the implementation and delivery of programs on various community issues and topics that support the mission and goals of the CCC.

Furthermore, outreach to campus and community groups through tabling, planning programs, conducting training, etc. to promote the mission and goals of the CCC.


Graphic Design Intern
This intern is the key to all CCC publications and promotions. You will be responsible for all of the CCCÕs publicity materials and for creating promotional materials that is inclusive and welcoming of all members of the campus community. Marketing skills are essential as this intern is required to collaborate with the other CCC interns in producing promotional material that reflect the mission of the Cross Cultural Center.


Administrative Assistant & Volunteer Program Coordinator
This intern assists the CCC in performing general office duties including photocopying, faxing, email, filing, mailing, and maintaining electronic mailing lists. The intern need to be a great multi-tasker and is often the face of customer service for the center. Also, tasks include working in cooperation with the CCC staff to distribute flyers, posters & other media to promote CCC sponsored events and other important notices. This person coordinate and be responsible for the operation and implementation of the Volunteer program including recruiting, training, and assigning volunteers to be engaged in CCC programs. Our great volunteer staff are the lifeblood of activity of the center and keep us functioning.
